Our Story
Earth Language was established by artisan Tanasia Tibbs in 2015 in downtown Savannah, Georgia. Inspired by the urban feel, warm weather, peaceful long green trees, and small boutique shops; she took a walk that would change her life forever. She came across an all-natural soap shop in the heart of the city and could not believe her eyes. She always dreamed of owning an all-natural soap shop but had never seen one before.
After going into the shop and observing the business she returned to her hotel room and created a lengthy business plan for Earth Language. She believed she hid her secret talent long enough. She planned to offer some of the most intriguing healthy soaps one has ever seen.
Tanasia had been making all-natural soap since she was a child. Her craft of soap making was first introduced to her by her mother, Latricia Carter. However, the two only made soap to use in their own home. While her mother introduced her to soap making, Tanasia Tibbs started making soap on her own and became a certified expert in soap making.
She took an entire year to research soap. Her findings were truly alarming when looking into mainstream soap ingredients. Big companies utilized fat from different animals, committed animal cruelty, added harmful colorants and fragrances to their recipes, including parabens, sulfates, carcinogens linked to cancer and other alarming health conditions. Not to mention, these processes proved harmful to the Earth-unsustainable.
Earth Language began selling healthy plant-based soaps to close friends and families in the Boston area after returning to Massachusetts in late 2015 and received raving reviews.
While many years passed, in the year of 2022, Earth Language finally secured a brick-and-mortar location at 1762 Centre Street, West Roxbury to allow its customers a permanent location for the company’s life changing all natural products.
